The Virginia Gents and William and Mary Tribe combined forces today may 27,2006 to produce some remarkable 7s rugby demolishing Roanoke,Richmond B,and VCU to secure the Bowl Trophy.
Boomer and Jerry made the plays and orchestrated the offense creating opportunity,space,and time for the Boys to find the try line. Trevor was onto every loose ball,every tackle,scored too. Kyle made some epic open field tackles and scored a couple of times inside the hard way. Hawk showed that quick change of pace and inside move to score several times from long distance. The younsters were shown the way and how to do it by Phil Bassett who scored some monster trys. View the video below. Boomers leadership as Captain was cool and confident. The side absorded Boomer's confidence as we improved and got more sure with every match. Jerry's on field leadership and creativety was just what we needed. Special mention to Dan for his steady work at prop and success in keeping the ball alive. Dayle,well we know Dayle, he challanged every defender in front him and set the winning attitude for all of us. Mike was outstanding with his long runs and speed;we were sorry that Mike had to leave early.
