Friends of the Richmond Rugby Foundation,
It is difficult to gauge whether the level of excitement for our new, wholly-owned, rugby facility is growing faster than the sprouting grass on our new pitch. The end of 2005 has every active Richmond rugby player, old boys, friends and fans counting down the days to our inaugural match in the Spring 2006. Now, only one question remains, when will our collective dream of a complete top-notch rugby complex be realized? Your financial gift can provide the only true answer.

In just three short months we will drop our first beads of sweat, dominate our first rucks, and dot down our first points on our new pitch. That day will mark the culmination of years of planning and generous donations aimed at reaching our shared dream. While the congratulatory pats on the back will be warranted to all, it will not be the time to rest on our initial accomplishment.
Our attainable end goal remains. It is to maintain two irrigated pitches, provide graveled parking area/access roads and to develop our clubhouse so that the Richmond region can take pride in having enviable rugby facilities similar to those elsewhere in Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Raleigh and San Francisco. Additional gifts are needed to fully develop our Whiteside Road facility in Sandston VA for the ultimate enjoyment of the players and supporters of the Richmond Rugby Foundation.
This holiday season, give the gift of rugby to the Richmond community with your donation to the Richmond Rugby Foundation. As you may know, the RRFd (FIN 54-1651482) is an IRS Section 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Your charitable donation can easily be made by check mailed to our PO Box or given to one of your Foundation trustees. We accept cash and bank credit card convenience checks too!
We now accept donations by credit card at the secured internet site of JustGive.com which is one of the largest charitable collection organizations, (the web site is www.justgive.org). To donate, simply go to the site and type in, “Richmond Rugby Foundation” in the search field. The site accepts credit card donations (VISA, MC, AMEX and Discover) and allows donors to time their gifts either as a one-time offering or over a set period. It is important to note that each dollar of your 2005 gift goes to the development of Richmond Rugby Foundation athletic grounds at 514 Whiteside Road, Sandston VA.
If this is not the right time to send financial support, consider making a monetary pledge for the coming year by completing the enclosed form and mailing back to the RRFd. We will be grateful for your personal contribution, large or small, as we venture onto the new rugby pitches on Whiteside Road in the year 2006.
The annual fund raising motto this year is taken directly from Johnny Unitas’s traditional pregame speech to the Baltimore Colts every Sunday afternoon.
“Talk is cheap. Let’s go play!”
The Richmond Rugby Foundation and your Trustees look forward to sharing the progress of our development efforts with you. Please contact any of your Trustees if you have questions on these matters.
